Open Studio Show VERTICAL GROWLERS

In Vertical Growlers, Danilo Andrés brings together a group of performers/vocalists and one climbing expert to research a vocal score that will be performed while climbing a selected building inside the Ankerbrot complex. The performers will interact with the arquitecture using their breath and various vocal sounds, sounds that will oscillate at the edge between laughter and crying, lamentation and sexual pleasure, illness and enlightenment. Danilo Andrés, queer Latin-american choreographer & vocalist, proposes a decolonial gesture here, in the performers' use of their breath and voices to enchant, weaken, and cause the building's architecture to lose its power. In other words, "Vertical Growlers" is not only an research, but also signifies the creation of a new decolonial performative practice.
