About
LOTLab meets Residency: for this special LOTLab our artists-in-residence Paula Punkstina and Sara Francola share the findings of their research during the summer residency. They explore the shifting bond between two individuals, focusing on the space between what is spoken and what is withheld. Their research is part of a broader inquiry into the unstable nature of communication and the meaning that emerges in its gaps.
The artists: Paula Punkstina (b. 2001, Latvia) and Sara Francola (b. 1998, Italy) are an artist duo based in The Hague, Netherlands. Their collaborative practice navigates the shifting territory of intimacy, language, and memory. As friends, lovers, and co-creators, their work frames personal histories through playful yet melancholic metaphors. Through irony and encoded gestures, they turn private dialogue into public inquiry, asking: What remains when intimacy is deconstructed?
